The Municipal Council of Vlora has opened the way for the construction of the new "Flamurtari" stadium. The development includes the current stadium space, the sports palace, the annex and the swimming pool, as well as the surrounding area with an area of 5 hectares.
The goal of the intervention is the redevelopment of the sports complex, transforming the area not only into a modern sports space, but also into a mixed social and economic complex. The stadium is expected to be built in the place where the existing stadium in "Skelë" is currently located. The capacity has not yet been finally allocated, but discussions are between 8,000 and 10,000 places.
The stadium designed by the Belgian studio, "XDGA", has been selected as the winner in the international competition for the "Flamurtari" stadium. The modern facility will serve for football, but it will also be a multi-functional center.
