Thomas Müller has been sharing his thoughts with followers every month for some time.
It is logical that Müller-Mail subscribers were excited to see what the world champion would write to them after it became official on Saturday that his contract with FC Bayern, which expires at the end of the season, would not be extended.
Bayern veteran Thomas Müller is leaving the champions after 25 years.
"The club consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract with me for the coming season. Even if this did not correspond to my personal wishes, it is important that the club continues with its conviction. I respect this step, which the board of directors and the supervisory board certainly did not take lightly," Muller said.
Müller also commented on the Champions League quarter-final matches against Inter (April 8 and 16) - and sent a warning to his team!
"The best performances against Leverkusen (3-0 and 2-0) gave us a lot of confidence. We have respect for Inter, but we know we can beat them. Italian teams play in a tactically disciplined way, rarely wildly. The risk is that their tactical structure will put us to sleep. Therefore, we need patience, but with unconditional movement towards the goal," he says.
For Müller, the two duels with Inter are the last hurdle before he can start dreaming of the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena on May 31.
Müller explains that "of course that's our goal, but maybe you know what I mean. If we reach the semi-finals, then the final will be within reach for me."
