Medon Berisha is mainly playing as an attacking midfielder for Lecce and has so far scored two goals and provided three assists.
A player with exceptional ball skills and a powerful and accurate shot, the national team player already stood out last season, although a series of physical problems slowed his growth. However, this year, he seems to have found the right consistency and is fully rewarding everyone's trust.
To talk about him, "Tutomercato" interviewed the person who saw him grow up, namely Christian Franke, head of the youth sector of Young Boys, where Berisha played between 2015 and 2022 before arriving in Salento.
What can you tell us about Berisha, who you admired at Young Boys?
"Medon demonstrated his qualities from a young age and was an interesting player for our teams. In the 2021-2022 season, he had the opportunity to play in the UEFA Youth League, becoming Swiss champion with the U-18 national team in the 2020-2021 season."
Does he resemble any particular player?
"I can't name one. He has the ability to understand the game, to make decisions, but he is also capable of scoring goals."
Do you remember how the negotiations with Lecce went and why you decided to sell him?
"Medon did not follow the ideal path that we believe is best for the development of young players, because we believe that they must first integrate into our first team and become important players. He decided to go abroad and we found a solution with Lecce. And today we are happy that he is doing well in Serie A."
