A fierce clash has occurred between Serbian police and an Albanian footballer.
In a match between Vlado and the Albanian club KF Tërrnoci, there was an incident where the police entered the field and had a clash with the football player Veton Zeqiri, so much so that the situation later escalated, with the police in the locker room.
In a direct connection with "Albania Live", the footballer reveals that the Serbian policeman hit him and what caused the situation to escalate.
Veton Zeqiri: The incident started at the beginning of the match. We were provoked by the opposing team and at one point in the middle of the match, the security thought that one of our players had a knife in his bag and that we had gone to attack the opposing team. At one point, the Serbian police entered the field and I was the first player to be close to them, I stopped the policeman to ask him why he entered, since the regulations prohibit the police from entering the field without the delegate's permission. He didn't give me any answer, he just hit me.
Sidorela Gjoni: You didn't have any kind of revolt? What was the dialogue you had with each other that pushed him to shoot you?
Veton Zeqiri: No, no. I asked him in a humane way why he entered the field. He didn't give me any answer. His answer was the punch he gave me in the face.
Sidorela Gjoni: And after that, how did the situation go?
Veton Zeqiri: When he hit me the first time, he tried to hit me again, when he saw that my teammates had cameras filming, he lowered his head and left the stadium.
Sidorela Gjoni: Who reported that one of you might have a knife and how did the police search begin?
Veton Zeqiri: Stadium security, because there should be security inside the field here, and he reportedly saw our footballer with a knife in his bag and called the police.
Sidorela Gjoni: The match was stopped? Why did they come onto the field? Why didn't they wait to check in the locker room as happened later?
Veton Zeqiri: The match was around the 81st minute and when the police entered the field we stopped the match. The police later came to the locker room and searched us as if we were criminals.
