The decision to deduct 10 points in the Premier League standings was appealed today by Everton which led to the penalty being reduced from 10 to 6 points.
Everton were stripped of their points with immediate effect in November after they were found to have breached profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) in relation to losses.
The club will now move to 25 points, which lifts them to 15th from 17th and five points above the relegation zone.
" An independent appeals panel has concluded that the sanction for Everton FC's breach of the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules (PSR), for the period ending the 2021/22 season, will be an immediate deduction of six points " , a Premier League statement said.
Everton FC appealed the sanction imposed against him on nine grounds, each of which related to the sanction rather than the fact of the offence, which the club admitted.
Two of those nine reasons were upheld by the appeal board, which has replaced the original points deduction from 10 to 6. This revised decision has immediate effect and the Premier League table will be updated today to reflect this.
