The European Super League has won the case with UEFA and FIFA at the Court of Justice of the EU. The latter has given the final decision regarding one of the biggest issues in the history of football, giving the right to the clubs that wanted to undertake this activity. It says that the decisions taken by UEFA and FIFA to punish these clubs are illegal, but says nothing about the exclusion of these clubs from the activities of the two biggest football organizations.
The Spanish soccer giant, Barcelona, immediately expressed "satisfaction" with the court's decision.
In a statement published on their website, the Catalans wrote:
" As one of the clubs leading the Super League project, FC Barcelona believes that the decision paves the way for a new elite level football competition in Europe challenging the monopoly over the world of football. We want to initiate new discussions about the path that European competitions should follow in the future ".
Club president Joan Laporta also released a video expressing his support for the hated Superliga.
Even their La Liga rivals Real Madrid and their president Florentino Perez did the same with a statement on their website.
