Real Madrid is experiencing one of the deepest crises in the last decade. In just 8 months, the Merengues club is in a free fall that is being reflected on the fields of play and off. A situation that brought the dismissal of Xabi Alonso who came with great hopes, to be replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa and that culminated in the elimination of Real Madrid in the King's Cup by Albacete, a team that is fighting for survival in the Second Division of Spanish football.
The Madrid daily 'Marca' has conducted an analysis of this crisis, revealing the causes that brought Real Madrid to this situation.
1) The surreal departure of Carlo Ancelotti
At first, the Italian was reported to be on the bench of Brazil and then to be leaving Real Madrid. And this is the first big mistake. Carlo Ancelotti also left because he wanted control over the team and the players began to show signs of comfort. The first warning that something was breaking within the team
2) The departure of Luka Modric
The Croatian wanted to stay and had shown that he was still a player who made the difference. But the club showed him the door. Today, Madrid is feeling his absence and Modric is also showing at Milan that he continues to be one of the best midfielders in the world.
3) Refusal to buy a midfielder
Kroos left and Modric was shown the exit door, and for this reason Xabi Alonso asked for a midfielder.
