After intense hours of negotiations, the legend Mircea Lucescu is preparing to be the new coach of Romania, succeeding Eduard Iordanescu, who left the post after participating in "EURO 2024".
The Romanian newspaper "Gazeta Sporturilor" announced the news. This is a return for the historic 79-year-old coach, as he had already managed the Romanian team between 1981 and 1986.
With 36 trophies won, Mircea Lučesku was free in the market, after leaving the technical command of the Ukrainian team, Dynamo Kiev last season. Romania is not the only national team on Mircea Lucescu's CV. He also coached Turkey from August 2017 to February 2019.
In the following hours, its formalization is expected.
