Roma club appears to have closed the search for a new coach, as it has identified the one who will be Claudio Ranieri's successor on the capital's bench.
" Corriere Dello Sport " reports that after Gianpiero Gasperini's meeting with Atalanta's management, where he requested permission to discuss with other clubs, he was contacted by Roma.
Sports director Gisolfi is reported to have spoken several times on the phone with the coach to explain the Yellows' plans and received in response Gasperini's willingness to sign with them.
The talks are still in the early stages, but the capital club is optimistic that they will successfully conclude talks with the coach, who had asked Atalanta for three days to make his decision about his future.
