The Albanian national team could face significant changes this summer, as coach Silvinjo's contract with the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) expires in July. So far, there has been no official decision on whether the cooperation between the parties will continue or be terminated.
In this context of uncertainty, former national team player, Klodian Duro, has publicly expressed his interest in taking over the leadership of the representative team. The 48-year-old, currently without a team, has given a direct signal to the Albanian Football Association, by "offering himself" for the position of coach.
Duro recently posted an AI-generated image on social media, showing him as Albania's coach. This action has been interpreted as a symbolic "text message" to the Federation, underlining his ambition to take over the Rossoneri.
During his coaching career, Duro has managed several teams in Albania and Kosovo, including Kukës, Kamza, Luftëtar, Feronikeli, Lushnje, Gjilan and most recently Liri e Prizren in the Kosovo First League. The only trophy he has won remains the Albanian Cup with Kukës in 2016.
As a footballer, he has 77 appearances with the national team, ranking fifth on the list of players with the most matches, after Elseid Hysaj, Lorik Cana, Etri Berisha and Altin Lala.
However, the position of national team coach remains vacant. Silvinho's future is still in question and any decision on a replacement is expected to be made after his contract expires.
