At the European Wrestling Championship, which is taking place at the "Feti Borova" Sports Palace in Tirana, Albanian athletes are recording positive results, holding the red and black flag high.
Islam Dudaev has already secured a silver medal and will aim to win gold today. He will face Russian wrestler Bashir Magomedov in the final, in a duel that is expected to be decisive for the title.
Meanwhile, another representative of Albania, Zelimkhan Abakarov, has managed to qualify for the semifinals of the freestyle in the weight class up to 61 kilograms. He will face Azerbaijani Nuradin Novruzov after 16:45, in an attempt to secure a place in the final and a medal for Albania.
Abakarov has successfully passed the first two matches. In the qualifying round he convincingly defeated the Italian Simone Pirodu with a score of 12-2, while in the quarterfinals he won 6-2 against the German Niklas Steshele, dominating the match.
