A Congolese fan has become a sensation at the Africa Cup of Nations for his incredible stamina, standing with his hand raised and not moving throughout their matches.
Michel Kuka Mboladinga, nicknamed "Lumumba" in honor of the country's independence hero Patrice Lumumba, has followed all of Congo's matches so far.
He wowed viewers by raising his hand and holding the pose for the entire match against Benin, which lasted 115 minutes after time was added for VAR checks. Mboladingai repeated the feat against Senegal once again in Congo's 3-0 win over Botswana in Group D on Wednesday.
Congo's victory in Rabat came courtesy of Nathanaël Mbuku and a brace from Gaël Kakuta. The victory confirmed their place in the round of 16, where they will face Algeria.
Patrice Lumumba was the first prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and leader of the Congolese National Movement from 1958 until 1961, when he was assassinated. The tribute from fans recreates Lumumba's pose immortalized in a statue in Kinshasa. Lumumba was shot by a firing squad at the age of 35 and his body was dissolved in acid.
This Congo supporter posed like a statue and didn't move for the whole 90 minutes ????
