Albanian wrestler Chermen Valiev excelled at the World Wrestling Championships, held in Croatia, winning the silver medal. The 27-year-old was only stopped in the final by Japan's Takashai, who triumphed with a score of 8-2.

He started with a convincing 12-2 victory over Mongolian Erdenabat. Then, the Albanian wrestler eliminated Belgian Ibragim Veliev. In the quarterfinals, Valiev triumphed over American Devid Aron with a narrow 7-5 score.
In the semifinals, he defeated Russian Sidakov 6-4, showing skill and determination. This medal comes as another confirmation of Valiev's talent, who earlier secured Albania's first Olympic medal in history. His achievement at the World Championships strengthens Albania's position on the international wrestling scene.
