Arijanet Muric will not be part of Sassuolo next season. The Kosovo international goalkeeper, on loan from Ipswich Town to the Italian team, has decided not to continue his cooperation with the Serie A club.
The news was confirmed by the Dardanian guard himself in a statement to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
" I am grateful for this year that I spent at the club, but I do not intend to play for Sassuolo next season. When the loan contract ends, my experience here will also end. It was a positive year and I had fun, but for personal reasons I informed the club that I will not stay ," said Muric.
Despite the decision to leave, the 25-year-old had a positive season with Sassuolo in the Italian top flight. One of the most notable performances was against Juventus, in a 1-1 draw, where Muric also saved a penalty.
In total, the Kosovar goalkeeper has played in 32 matches this season, while keeping a clean sheet on six occasions.
Two weeks before the end of the championship, Sassuolo is ranked 11th in Serie A with 49 points accumulated.
