Cristiano Ronaldo was very close to celebrating the championship title in Saudi Arabia, but Al Nassr was held to a dramatic draw by Al Hilal, postponing everything to the final week of the championship.
The Portuguese's team needed just one win to mathematically secure the trophy, but an own goal in the final minutes denied them the victory. Al Nassr took the lead in the 37th minute, when Simakan took advantage of a good move and sent the ball into the net.
Everything seemed to be heading towards a big celebration for Ronaldo and his teammates, but at the end of the match Al Hilal managed to equalize in an incredible way. After a throw-in with his hands in the area, goalkeeper Bento was unsure and the ball slipped from his hands, ending up in the net for an own goal that sealed the score 1-1.
The draw pushes the title race to the final match of the season, where Al Nassr will face Damac and victory remains the only result that gives the championship title to Ronaldo's team.
Meanwhile, Al Nassr's attention will also be on the final of the Asian Champions League 2, where in four days they will face Gamba Osaka, in another decisive duel of the season.
