A judge on Friday banned the former head of Spanish football, Luis Rubiales, from approaching more than 200 meters from the footballer Jenny Hermoso.
Prosecutors had sought the restraining order against Rubiales in a Madrid court, which heard a criminal complaint of sexual assault and coercion.
After appearing in court for the first time, Rubiales denied sexually assaulting Hermoso by kissing her on the lips when Spain won the Women's World Cup last month, the BBC wrote.
Hermoso's lawyer insisted that "the kiss was not made with mutual consent".
Rubiales resigned as president of the Spanish Football Federation (FFS) earlier this week, and appeared in a closed court hearing on Friday to deny the two criminal charges.
Judge Francisco de Horge was asked to ban him from coming closer than 500 meters to Jenny Hermoso, or speaking to her.
He later agreed to the order, but ruled that the measure should be 200 meters, also adding that Rubiales must not contact the player during the investigation.
Spain won the Women's World Cup in Australia on August 20, but the team's historic success was overshadowed by Rubiales' actions during the team's post-match celebration.
