The numbers that football players wear on their jerseys are identifiers, in most cases they define their role on the field, but they are also related to beliefs. Many players are superstitious and the numbers they "wear" are related to dates in their lives.
In club teams they are free to choose from number 1 to 99, but in international competitions with representative teams this rule changes. For example, in Euro 2024, players can choose from 1st to 26th, the maximum number in the lists that will be submitted to UEFA before the start of the competition.
But what are the numbers chosen by the national football players for the finals of the European Championship?
ABC News has revealed the preferences of Silvinho's trustees.
Most of the players who are constant in the formation, but who are always invited to the national team, have not changed their numbers.
