Former president Bamir Topi, speaking about the event of January 21, has also spoken about the investigative commission for the event that arose at that time. For Topi, that commission of inquiry was a shame.
Topi, who at that time found himself under the accusations of Sali Berisha as part of the 'coup d'état', said that he is the only commission in history that did not draw any conclusions.
The former president said that the commission did not produce any final report and it is still in the archives of the Assembly.
"I believe that the establishment of the parliamentary investigative commission, to their shame! A commission that is the only one in the history of the Albanian parliament that has not closed its work, no report has been submitted. It still remains in the archives of the Parliament of Albania. The big surprise, from 2013 when the rotation took place until 2024, the political debate on the issue of January 21 has never been resumed," said former president Topi in an interview for Report TV.
