
A group of Croatian tourists were trapped today at Maja e Jezerca, while one of them lost his life after falling from the height due to the steep mountain terrain.
Interior Minister Taulant Balla has announced that five of the rescued climbers assisted by the Mountain Search and Rescue Service of Kosovo are returning to their tools. Two others were transported by helicopter to the city of Bajram-Curri.
"A few hours ago, the State Police in cooperation with the Emergency Service, the Armed Forces and the Search and Rescue Department of the Republic of Kosovo were involved in a difficult operation on the Jezerca mountain, to help a group of climbers who they had entered from the territory of Montenegro and were stranded at the top of Jezerca. During the search and rescue operation, it was possible to retrieve the dead body of a citizen, who had lost her life as a result of slipping in a steep and snowy area. Five of the Croatian climbers assisted by the Mountain Search and Rescue Service of Kosovo are returning to their tools in the territory of Montenegro. Two more tourists were transported with the help of a helicopter to the city of Bajram-Curri", wrote Balla.
