Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu described the extension of SPAK's mandate as difficult, as he commented on today's report by SPAK head Altin Duamani to the KLP on the work of 2024.
Invited to the 'Studio Live' show on Report TV, Spahiu said that only the Socialist Party can extend SPAK's mandate, if they get 93 votes to enable the amendment of the Constitution.
"It was one of the most concrete presentations, it highlighted the problems, needs and balances. It is good that a head of an institution maintains contact with the public, we see him once a month to communicate with the public and it is something positive. Dumani did not even hide his pride in his work by releasing concrete statistics and figures. The key point is the request he made for the extension of the mandate that according to the constitution they have a limited mandate and after a few years they cannot run", said Spahiu.
According to him, Dumani came with a concrete proposal, not asking for an extension of the mandate, but the opportunity for others to run for re-election.
"I think it is a formula that cannot have legal obstacles because it is unacceptable to deprive someone of the right to run. For SPAK's mandate to be extended, a Rama-Berisha agreement is also needed," he said.
