Weather forecaster Elvi Jahaj commented on the weather forecast for the coming days and the days leading up to the new year.
According to him, temperatures for the New Year will range from -3 to -4 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, while in the western lowlands -1 to 0 degrees Celsius.
"The weather on the last weekend of the year is expected to be cold. In Korça, snowfall is expected to cease as the hours pass, while our country in general will be affected by cold and frosty weather conditions.
The weather will be clear but cold throughout the territory with few clouds in the mountainous areas. Minimum temperatures for the weekend are expected to reach -3 to -4 degrees Celsius in the mountainous areas, while in the western lowlands -1 to 0 degrees Celsius.
But starting from Monday and Tuesday until New Year's Day, mainly December 31 and January 1, it is expected to be frosty, in the mountainous areas it will be -8 and -9 degrees, in the lowlands -4 and -5 degrees, while on the coast 0 to -1 degrees Celsius.
"Noon temperatures over the weekend will be 13 and 14 degrees, while for the days of the new year they are expected not to exceed values of 7 and 8 degrees along the western lowlands. The wind will blow from the north quadrant," he said.
