Journalist Arian Çani said in the show 'Now' that Prime Minister Edi Rama invited Fredi Beleri, who is in prison, to lunch.
He emphasized that Rama has nothing personal with Beleri, but he is interested in Himara.
He further emphasized that a group of people love Beler in prison, for different reasons.
"The great Sultan Edi Rama invited Fredi Beleri to the prime minister's office for lunch together with a group of people a few years ago. Rama has nothing personal with Beleri. Rama today has more than 7 people who are called journalists but are actually businessmen, who for various reasons want Beleri to stay in prison," he said.
At midnight on May 12, the State Police arrested Fredi Beleri, the candidate of the "Together We Win" coalition for the municipality of Himara, on charges of vote buying.
Fredi Beleri was declared the winner in the May 14 local elections.
The investigation against Fredi Beleri was carried out following a police referral on May 8, which engaged the prosecution on suspicions of vote-buying. Then the prosecution says a citizen offered to cooperate with justice, exposing Beler and Kokavesh who are suspected of paying money in exchange for votes.
The payment was made in a bar, and the authorities emphasize that they have environmental surveillance conducted by an operational group sent from Tirana.
