
A tragic event took place on the beach of Durrës, where a 70-year-old man from Tirana lost his life after suffering a cardiac arrest, falling into the sea.
Medical authorities and beach safety experts are calling for extreme caution and increased awareness of the dangers of prolonged sun exposure, especially for elderly patients with chronic illnesses.
The patient, known for his health problems such as hypertension and diabetes, was reported to have spent a long time in the sun before experiencing a sudden decline in health. Paramedics at the scene were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
"This event points out the risk of exposure of patients with cardiovascular diseases to high temperatures and sudden changes in conditions", said an emergency doctor of Durrës Hospital.
