Residents of several villages in the Thumanë administrative unit protested again near the Thumanë-Kashar highway underpass, blocking traffic for about an hour in protest against the deteriorating state of infrastructure in the area.
This is the fourth time that residents have protested, demanding intervention on the Gramza road, which according to them has been severely damaged by the traffic of heavy vehicles that deviate from the highway and pass through this segment.
According to residents, the lack of intervention by the Albanian Road Authority and the Municipality of Krujë for the reconstruction of about 500 meters of road has forced them to protest and block traffic.
Aulon Kalaja, present at the protest, said that despite successive protests, there has been no reaction from the responsible institutions.
"This is the fourth protest and there is still no reaction from the institutions. The residents have decided to sign a petition addressed to the responsible institutions. Looking for a road in 2026 is a national disaster. Every time we protest, they throw a handful of gravel, but this is not a solution ," he said.
According to him, the situation is further aggravated by the traffic of heavy vehicles.
"Over 2,000 trailers pass by per day, imagine what the residents of this area are in. They will also pursue the legal path to the prosecutor's office and court," Kalaja added.
Residents appealed for institutions to intervene to reconstruct damaged roads in the Kruja area, which they described as one of the most neglected areas for infrastructure investments.
