Lawyer Rezart Kthupi spoke about the vote recount process, which has not seen any changes so far.
He stated that the opening of the ballot boxes, especially for Tirana, will cause the vote recount process to be postponed and the election certification process will not be completed.
"The DP itself has not officially taken any legal action to request a recount. Two representatives of the DP in the KAS have requested a recount of Fier, Tirana and partially of Durrës. The logic would be that the opening of the boxes, especially for Tirana, will cause the vote recount process to be postponed beyond June and the election certification process cannot be completed as long as the vote recount continues. For Berisha, this would also delay the implementation of the Basha article that the DP has," he told "Abc News".
Kthupi said that the Basha article does not depend on the will of the party leader, but is implemented automatically as long as there is a certification of the elections.
"It is not a matter of internal will, it is the will of a third party, which in this case is the certifying party that proves that these elections are real. But we must say that the architecture of how the CEC is built shows that it is a body with representatives of both parties. When the CEC confirms the elections, they are a body of people composed of both sides, who accept that the elections are regular, so when you have your representatives in the CEC, there is no longer room for biased political positions ," he said.
