Journalist Fatos Mahmutaj, invited to the show "Ora e funit", commented on the reactions of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha regarding the visit that Prime Minister Edi Rama will make to Brussels, emphasizing that these positions are against the interest of Albania and European integration.
He said that Berisha has a tendency to see every success of Albanian politics in Brussels with a negative eye and to produce news that tarnishes the country's image in the international arena. He added that the time when Berisha mobilized militants is over and now he is focused only on personal problems with justice.
In conclusion, Mahmutaj emphasized that Sali Berisha is closing his political chapter, describing his stance as harmful to Albania and its efforts towards European integration.
"Prime Minister Rama is being received by the President of the Council of Europe. It has nothing to do with enlargement or these stories, because these are the European Commission's. He likes any kind of success of Albanian politics in Brussels, Berisha sees it with a negative eye and the news he will produce and produces it in this kind of form. Berisha has done nothing in Albania for 35 years. These stories of his are a disgrace.
"You can't go anywhere with Berisha and Albanians are abandoning him in every speech he makes. Gone are the days when Berisha gathered his militants, lied to them, deceived them, they were killed for Berisha. Berisha will solve his problems with justice, he has no other agenda. Sali Berisha has always had an anti-Albanian agenda. He is closing the chapter of politics with a body, as a thief, as a murderer and by blackening Albanians," said Mahmutaj.
