The lawyer Brizida Gjikondi has commented on the complaint of the former Prime Minister Berisha, who requested that the first measure "obligation to appear" decided by the Special Court be declared unconstitutional.
The Constitutional Court is expected to announce the decision regarding Sali Berisha's appeal.
Gjikondi said that Berisha has been attacking the Constitutional Court all along. She added that this is the model that best describes the vision of the Albanian opposition. While he emphasized that the Constitutional Court has no reason to change the security measure that the Special Court had given for Berisha, since the latter did not respect it.
For the lawyer Gjikondi, another decision, which would go in favor of Berisha, would undoubtedly send a bad message to Albanian justice.
"Berisha has always attacked the Constitutional Court. He attacked the president of the Constitutional Court. Berisha aware of the decision. He did not respect the decision of SPAK and GJKKO with obligation to appear, as Mediu and Kryemadhi are respecting it, and this has caused him to be given a more burdensome measure because he did not respect the first measure. They will leave the previous decisions in force. The Constitutional Court has no reason to change the measure taken by GJKKO. He will find an enemy to deal with. The measure could become an obligation to appear, so that Berisha would have space to deal with the electoral campaign. A decision in favor of Berisha greatly damages the message that justice must deliver" , she told "Abc News".
