Analyst Edvin Kulluri, invited to News24, has strongly criticized developments within the Democratic Party, accusing the current leadership of a marked lack of internal democracy.
Referring to the situation in the DP and the recent expulsions, Kulluri stated that party leader Sali Berisha is harming the opposition itself.
"Berisha today is the person who does the most harm to the opposition. Expelling members of the leadership or municipal councilors at this moment is total irresponsibility," he declared.
He also focused on the situation of former MP Ervin Salianji, emphasizing that he is unable to enter the race for DP chairman due to the lack of a real electoral process.
"Today there is no competition in the DP. There are no membership lists, there are no rules of the game. An absurd term like 'self-exclusion' has also been invented, while Salianji has not self-excluded himself from anywhere," said Kulluri.
According to him, Berisha's main fear is related to the possibility that Salianji will receive significant support within the party.
"If Salianji gets even 30% of the vote, he breaks the myth of invincibility," the analyst added.
Kulluri concluded by emphasizing that the lack of real competition and internal exclusions are seriously damaging the functioning of the opposition and the trust of the electorate.
