12 boats from Vlora to Saranda are blocked, drivers are fined

The Border Police of Vlora have blocked 12 other vessels, including 7 Jet Skis, 2 tourist boats, 2 speedboats and 1 dinghy.

The police announce that in addition to blocking the boats, their drivers were fined ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 new lek.

So, the violations found by the police are: Sailing/coasting outside the designated area, practicing maritime tourism activity in violation of the law, failure to register the vessel within the prescribed period and lack of documentation.

"In the entire water space of the Vlorë region, control groups from the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police continue to check the vessels, with the sole purpose of preventing incidents with consequences for the lives and health of vacationers.

From Vlora to Saranda, 12 other vessels were blocked.

Blocked vehicles: 7 Jet Skis, 2 pleasure boats, 2 speedboats and 1 dinghy.

Violations found: sailing/coasting outside the designated area, practicing maritime tourism activity in violation of the law, failure to register the vessel within the prescribed period and lack of documentation.

In addition to blocking the vessels, their drivers were punished with administrative measures ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 new lek.

As a result of the monitoring of the coastline and the water space of the Vlorë district, with the primary objective of guaranteeing the safety of the lives of citizens and vacationers, the Maritime Police Unit, in cooperation with the Border Police services of the DVKM Vlorë, has blocked 12 other vessels floating, which were found in various illegalities.

- In Radhimë, Ksamil and Saranda, 7 Jet Ski boats were blocked. 2 leaders were each fined an administrative measure of 100,000 new lek, for sailing/coasting in a prohibited area; 2 managers were each fined with an administrative measure of 20,000 new lek, for not registering the vessels within the deadline set by law; 3 drivers were each fined an administrative measure of 10,000 new lek, for lack of documentation on board.

- 2 tourist boats are blocked at the pier of the port of Vlora. Each of the leaders (captains) was punished with the administrative measure of 100,000 new lek, for exercising the activity (maritime tourism) contrary to the law.

- In Gjipe, 1 raft was blocked. The driver was punished with the administrative measure of 10,000 new lek, for lack of documentation on board.

- In Dhërmi, two speedboats were blocked for lack of documentation. The drivers of the floating vehicles were punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 ALL each.

The Border Police of Vlora appeals to all boat users to follow the rules for the use of boats and to respect the designated areas for sailing with these boats, in order for them and other vacationers to be safe and calm.

It also invites citizens to report any violation of the security perimeter and irregular use of watercraft to the toll-free number 112, guaranteeing a quick response, according to the law," the police announced .
