The General Director of Statistical Production at INSTAT, Elona Sevrani, has given details of the 2023 census, which starts today with data collection.
The respondents will knock up to three times at the citizen's residence to get the information. Meanwhile, suitable offices have been opened in all municipalities of the country where citizens can go to register if they cannot be contacted by the respondent.
As for immigrants or family members who may be outside Albania or in another city during the time of data collection, the surveyors will receive information from other family members who will be in the residence.
But what happens to those citizens who are not contacted by any Census enumerator for one reason or another?
In an interview for "Report TV", Sevrani says that the staff is trained to gather as much information as possible. Even in cases of apartments with closed doors, the building administrators or neighbors will be asked. However, the authorities emphasize increasing the awareness of citizens.
Director Elona Sevrani calls on citizens to register as these data will serve for the planning and implementation of general development policies, for scientific research, as well as for understanding the demographic, economic and social reality of the country.
Sevrani reveals that the margin of error is 3%.
