Fiks Fare denounced on Thursday evening the actions of the police and forensic medicine in Devoll and Korça, where a family was raped and none of the perpetrators have been arrested, but are being investigated at large.
The investigative show's team traveled to the village of Ponçarë in Devoll, at the request of the Jazexhi family. The head of the family, Luka Jazexhi, his wife Filloreta and son Beari were involved in a conflict with neighbors on October 3, 2025.
They
tell the story of the incident, where their neighbor Arnoldi and their father Pëllumbi beat them and caused them severe injuries to their bodies. Luka was bleeding, while Filloreta and Beari had severe injuries to their bodies. The fight broke out after the family had left a cart with corn on the road in front of the house and Arnoldi drove by.
"There was a way to get through. He got through, but he wanted to start a fight. He kicked and stoned the gate. The boy came out and started fighting with him. Luka came out too. Arnold and his father Pëllumbi started hitting him with punches and kicks. They knocked him to the ground and kept hitting him. Then we intervened, but they shot us too, we have marks all over our bodies," the family members say.
Luka says that when they shot him, he thought, "That's it, my eyesight went dark and I'm diabetic, I was left lying down." They suspect that the actions of the police and forensics were to cover up the incident. "We called the police and they accompanied us to the police station. He came like a gentleman in his own car. They neither arrested nor detained him,"
they say.
"The police did not take any action even though we were injured, bleeding and maimed. Luka went to the hospital and they gave him some sedatives. He is diabetic and took a lot of risk," says Filloreta.
The Devoll police have given the family a document to conduct a forensic examination in Korça, at the doctor Gjergji Kacuni's. "The police told us that it was Saturday too. We went and we didn't find him. We went on Monday too and we didn't find him. They have been harassing us. We think they are trying to hide it because neither the doctor comes out nor the police act. He is roaming free," they claim.
After the complaint, Filloreta and her son, Beari, inquire at the Devoll Police Station, where they meet an employee. He tells them that the actions were taken by another officer. They ask him why no action has been taken against the perpetrator, or another perpetrator, and tell him that they should ask the officer if he has taken any action. Meanwhile, the family also asked for a phone number for the coroner, but none of the employees at the Devoll Police Station have it.
The woman and son go to the Forensic Medicine in Korça and try to see doctor Gjergji Kacuni. They meet a nurse and he tells them that the doctor is not currently at work. “He is not today, he is in Tirana and will not be here for a few days,” the nurse tells them. The family informs them that they have been there several times and have not found him.
The employee tells him to "come back on Monday." On the day they went to the Forensic Medicine and had this conversation, 5 days had passed since the incident. Meanwhile, on the Monday when he was left to perform the forensic examination, a full 10 days would have passed since the incident.
After this mess, the Fiks Fare group inquires at the Devoll Police and asks for the officer who dealt with this matter. An employee says that he is not currently there, but that the chief of the police station will come.
After a few minutes, the chief arrives and Fiks Fare's group asks him for information about the October 3rd incident. The chief tells him that "I don't know anything, I have no information." Fiks also shows him photos of injured and bleeding family members, while the chief of the police station tells them that an officer is dealing with this matter. "To my knowledge, there is no arrest. To be honest, I have no information," the chief continues.
He then leaves and the journalists ask him how it's possible that the chief "doesn't know anything." He replies that the prosecutor must have issued an order for his release. Fiksi asks to speak to the officer who dealt with this case, where they also leave a phone number, but no one answers.
