Starting today, the weather has started to be capricious in the Albanian territory. Today was also marked by the first snowfall in the country, an unusual phenomenon for the month of October.
But how are these fluctuations explained and what is expected next?
Meteorologist Lajda Porja has predicted what the weather will be like in the coming days and what temperatures to expect from this winter...
"Starting today and at least until Sunday, we will have more winter nuances than autumn. It is predicted that tomorrow we will have low temperatures, dropping to 2 degrees C, while 0 degrees in mountainous areas. It will be a short winter that will last until Sunday, and on Sunday temperatures will even start to rise. Tonight at night, snow will start in the northern and northeastern areas and tomorrow it will also fall in the southeast. If we talk about the last two decades, we have been to the beach in October and this snow is not common. But we have good news, which will not last long. Next week we expect higher temperatures, up to 27 degrees C.
Until October 20, tropical storms are in their season, because there is a very long period of high temperatures and cold masses that immediately enter the territory. Until the 20th, we will expect at least 1 or 2 more events for the Albanian territory and more for the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal, Spain and Italy.
Tonight, Albania will face problems with frost and strong wind storms, which will be felt from the afternoon. Today and tomorrow, the biggest problem will be with wind storms. Starting from Saturday and Sunday, they will begin to decrease and next week they will normalize. But Greece will have the biggest problems in the last few days, with heavy rainfall and wind storms.
"The winter has been shortened, we expect that there will be no shortage of frosty days, but they will be counted on the fingers of one hand. The coldest will be January and a few days in February," she said.
