Gjovalin Shkambi, the uncle of the murderer of judge Astrit Kalaja, a few days ago threatened that if his nephew, Elvis Shkambi, is convicted, the judges will suffer the same fate as Astrit Kalaja.
After these statements, he was put in handcuffs, while today his family reacted, requesting a public apology, stating that Gjovalin Shkambi was in serious condition.
While expressing condolences to the judge's family, they say they are aware that threats are not justified under any circumstances.
"We begin this message by expressing our most sincere condolences to the family of the late judge! We express deep regret for the entire situation created after our father's statements.
We publicly apologize for the words he said, which, as he himself admitted, were expressed in a moment of great anger and shock.
Despite the fact that justice has not yet reached a final conclusion on this issue, we do not want to use hate speech against people performing their duties in any way and we respect the ongoing legal processes.
We are fully aware that threats cannot be justified under any circumstances, but we ask for understanding for the difficult emotional and psychological state our father was in at that moment.
We as family members fully understand the magnitude and sensitivity of this event, but we kindly ask that the media avoid involvement in our family life as much as possible, as our father was questioned and published at an extremely difficult time and in a serious psychological state.
We wish that justice and peace prevail, and that God does what is best for everyone!
