Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has denied having received any summons from SPAK to be questioned as a person with knowledge regarding the January 21, 2011 file, where 4 citizens were killed during an opposition protest.
Although the Special Prosecution Office said today that it has attempted to reach the DP leader at two addresses and via email, Berisha stated that without a summons he cannot appear at SPAK. The latter has stated that it will implement the procedures, implying that it will forcibly escort the DP leader if he does not appear.
And while Berisha and SPAK present their arguments regarding this issue, the former Prime Minister's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, accuses SPAK prosecutor Alfred Shehu of lying and being politically captured by the government.
According to Gjokutaj, Berisha was at SPAK on November 13, and the prosecutor had the opportunity to invite him for questioning at that moment.

The tragedy - comedy of SPAK for the alleged announcement of Mr. Sali Berisha to be questioned first on 03.11.2025 and then today on 14.11.2025, like any lie, has short legs!

You know very well that Mr. Sali Berisha appears at SPAK on the first and third Monday of every month in order to execute the court decision to impose the security measure "obligation to appear"!
For the sake of truth and irony of your fate, Mr. Sali Berisha appeared for this very reason on Monday, 03.11.2025 at 10:00 AM at the OPJ and SPAK, exactly on the date and time that you claim to have called him to question him!
Question: why didn't you invite him to be questioned that day since he was at SPAK's premises?
But for the next date, 14.11.2025, why didn't you communicate it since you weren't allowed to complete the question that day?
We knew that you were politically caught in the crossfire, but for the State Prosecutor to lie about the Government is criminal, immoral, and unworthy institutional behavior that must be despised and forcefully denounced every day!
Meanwhile, Mr. Sali Berisha is in Tirana, ready to appear according to the law and at the addresses you have mentioned as many times as you needed!
