Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha was supposed to appear today at the Special Prosecution Office, where he was summoned by SPAK for the "January 21" case. Regarding this issue, journalist Klodiana Lala stated that Berisha was summoned as a person in the know, while also clarifying Berisha's statement that he had not received any summons.
Lala explained that if Berisha's refusal to appear is repeated several times, it could lead to his mandatory escort, a scenario that, according to the journalist, is not very feasible.
" Berisha was supposed to appear at SPAK today at 10 am as a person in knowledge of the January 21 incident where 4 people lost their lives. He is seen as a key person, the SPK is looking for the person who gave the order to shoot. The investigation left out many characters because it was known how many conflicts there were between Berisha, the prime minister at the time, and Chief Prosecutor Ina Rama."
Berisha claimed that he did not receive a summons, which was rejected by the Special Prosecution, which said that several summonses were sent, first to the apartment and the second to the DP headquarters, where it was not received by the guard. A third summons is sent and then other procedures are followed. It could go towards a mandatory escort, but I do not think that Berisha will go to this point.
