Regarding January 21, 2011, SPAK has registered a criminal investigation into the murder of Aleks Nika, as well as the injury of Artes Dybeli, Ilia Qesko and Ilia Papa.
The case was registered by SPAK in compliance with the Supreme Court decision, which ordered the Special Structure to investigate the complaint made by Aleks Nika's wife, Rajmonda Nika. According to SPAK, the investigation has been registered for the criminal offenses of "murder in other qualifying circumstances", against two or more persons, "abuse of office" and "committing actions that impede the discovery of the truth", all three committed in collaboration.
Several former officials of that time, including the former commander of the Republican Guard, Ndrea Prendi, have been questioned about January 21st at various times.
