Partizani file, GJKKO decides today whether SPAK's evidence against Berisha

The next hearing is being held today at the GJKKO for what is known as the 'Partizani' file, where the defendants are former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, and 3 other people, including construction businessman Fatmir Bektashi.

The hearing will begin at 1:00 PM, while the court will decide on the request of former Prime Minister Berisha and other defendants in this process, who are requesting the invalidity of the acts and the inapplicability of the evidence that has been found so far.

In the October 13 session, SPAK prosecutor Arben Kraja requested the dismissal of the request with the argument that the claims raised by the defendants' defense do not stand legally, as there were no violations in the execution of security measures or in the expert examination procedures.

The Partizani affair case went to trial on May 19. Berisha has been charged with passive corruption of senior officials, as he is accused of having, in his capacity as prime minister, taken concrete actions in approving laws and by-laws, where his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, was also a beneficiary.

Malltezi is accused of active corruption, but also of money laundering. According to SPAK, he has benefited from income worth 5.4 million euros from a construction business in an irregular manner thanks to government decisions taken by his father-in-law.

Fatmir Bektashi is accused of corruption and money laundering, Malltez's partner and land heir Xhimi Begeja, and financier Andia Pustina, who handled the financial and legal affairs of the company "Homeplan", are accused of money laundering.

Also on trial for money laundering are three companies: "Kontakt", "Homeplan" and "Studio Pustina".
