Analyst Andi Bushati said that the judiciary continues to interfere in the election processes, opening the way for Edi Rama to compete with weakened opponents.
Bushati listed some of the cases where SPAK and the courts have influenced the weakening of the opposition in the elections.
"For me, it is unimaginable that Berisha is considered to lead Albania in 2025-2029. But this is not the discussion.
We have the opposition leader unjustly imprisoned. This is the essence of the problem, not that we are endangered by Berisha coming to power. In the elections, we will have an isolated opposition leader.
My problem is, since the trial of the reform in justice has started, what has happened? It happened to us that this SPAK has no clue about the crimes of Durrës and Dibra, which we heard with our ears. A pair of elections amnestied them. Another party introduced the opposition without a sign, without financing, without a stamp, etc. Another election was held, a day was won in Himare, they introduced justice, SPAK, the courts, took it from the opposition and gave it back to Rama.
Now we are repeating the May elections, which will put the opposition in the race without a leader.
If this new justice is destroying every political race, it is no longer a debate, we have Berisha as a candidate or not, but we have justice that does not allow people to compete with Edi Rama.
SPAK does not judge cases but conducts witch hunts. I agree, it is a shame that Sali Berisha defends himself behind the party. But we have to ask the question, is Sali Berisha being attacked as a former prime minister, or as today's leader of the opposition?
