Journalist Sokol Bregu stated that the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani should come up with concrete names regarding the exponents incriminated in the State Police.
Bregu emphasizes that if the head of SPAK recognizes people indicted in the State Police and leaves them still in office, according to him, this is inexcusable for public safety.
"Mr. Dumani must prove the accusation with evidence. If Mr. Dumani recognizes incriminated persons in the State Police and leaves them on duty, this would be unforgivable for order and public safety. If it refers to the cases that may be under investigation, or to some arrested persons who were 'blue uniforms', there have been some arrests in the police, but we cannot generalize. Because I know a high number of police officers, who lead their sector, who are people with a greater reputation, not only within the State Police, but also in Albanian society" , emphasized the journalist Sokol Bregu in MCN.
According to Bregu, the vetting in the State Police had to be done in a different way.
"The vetting was a process that did not go to the end. It was poorly constructed. It should have been done differently, are there any charges against them and the investigations. What is this Vetingu process that you have 2 or 3 million Lek unjustified. Criminalization is worrying, has it increased tremendously. Mr. Dumani should be open with the publication of names, he is a prosecutor, not an investigative journalist. Mr. Duman should have been clearer in his statements" , said Sokol Bregu.
So the journalist spoke about the conflict of the husband of the minister Ibrahimaj, stressing that the conflict is extended, exceeding the dimensions of a conflict within the work.
"Is it concealment or influence, they are two very different things. I don't care if he was in the daily bulletin or not, but how the investigation was followed. There is a problem, has the victim filed a report, or will he withdraw. To my knowledge it has been reported as such and both parties want to settle. There is something more to that situation. It exceeds the proportions of an intra-work conflict. It's a wider conflict, and therefore the injured party didn't want to be noticed" , said the journalist
"The fact that he was the minister's husband may have had an influential way of not making it public. But everything is related to the investigation, is the case being investigated. The file is in the prosecutor's office, is the Prosecutor investigating or not, this is... Can he close the case with an agreement between the parties, he can close it. The fact that one has left Albania, he also has a problem in his mind, that he does not come back and be arrested" , added Bregu.
