"We are trying to log in and still haven't received a code. We have been trying for about 10-15 minutes and it is impossible ," said Etleva Treska.
From the registration of new companies at the Central Business District, the partial or complete non-functioning of the self-care system, as well as a series of connecting systems through the National Agency for the Information Society, these are the most common problems encountered by businesses that have been left with their work suspended for days at a time during the end of the year. Citizens also face difficulties with documentation as everything must be done online.
"We have to look at it from two perspectives, it is mainly used by individuals. And the application of immigrants for document renewal is impossible. There are many problems with businesses. As soon as I had a client, we couldn't log in. As we can see, the site is not responding at all. And based on this, I have to close the year by the 31st. Businesses, when January comes, have to pay municipal taxes, make tax declarations for the year, and it burdens businesses unjustly. We are working all day and we have no results for our work," said Treska.
Not only accountants, this problem also affects other professions, such as economists, notaries, lawyers, advocates, etc.
"We as lawyers also raise concerns regarding e-Albania. Specifically, I have had contacts with foreign businesses and I have been unable to register a recent case. For the last 4-5 days, it has been impossible to log in or carry out procedures ," said lawyer Franc Nuri.
Faced with such a collapsing situation, businesses are looking for measures to be taken. But the only solution they manage to find is this one in e-Albania.
"The General Directorate of Civil Status will carry out maintenance and improvement operations of its electronic system. We inform you that during these processes there may be temporary interruptions or slowdowns in obtaining data through interaction with the National Civil Status Registry. We ask for your understanding for any possible difficulties that may be encountered in using online public services," the e-Albania statement reads.
Freelance professionals warn of protests if the e-Albania government portal does not become functional before 2026.
" I have not found a solution and I have gone to the physical offices of the Central Bank. What needs to be done is that there must be an alternative ," says Treska./ TCH
