Journalist Artan Hoxha, speaking about the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja, said that he paid the bill for the popular rebellion against the justice system.
Hoxha said that while we had previously thought that in Albania it would happen like in problematic cities where the mafia would kill judges, the opposite happened.
"The symbolism of that event is of extraordinary proportions. In addition to a judge being killed, he was killed in the courtroom. This country has gone through so many storms and this has never happened. Mr. Sadushi's statement seems as if it landed in Albania yesterday, as if he had never lived here. This event seems as if it had started its journey, only the date was awaited. An entire system was limping and creating popular discontent.
We thought it would happen under different circumstances. We compared the event to cities like Palermo, and we thought that the mafia would react because of the war, and in fact the opposite happened. Not what we thought. And this caught the system off guard. We are different from the world, the people should have taken to the streets ," Hoxha said on the show "This Week".
