The shooting death of Gjovalin Prendi a few days ago in the Lezha Plain continues to remain a mystery, while investigations are deepening into the possibility of revenge due to the criminal past of his son, Roan Brahimi, also known as Sidorel Prendi.
Journalist Klajdi Bodlli, invited to the "Open" show on News24, stated that the murder is suspected to have been committed by hired killers, who may have been following Prend for a long time to carry out the assassination.
He was in his bar at the time of the attack, along with his wife and another person, when he was shot to death within 30 seconds. The perpetrators' vehicle was later found burned.
According to Bodlli, the main lead being investigated by the police is that of a revenge plot related to the activities of his son, Roan Brahimi, who was executed in Greece last year in a still unsolved mafia assassination.
Greek and Albanian authorities believe that Brahim's conflict in Albania may have had tragic consequences for his family.
Meanwhile, regarding the serious attack that occurred a few days ago against a vehicle in which four young people were traveling, including two minors, respectively 17 and 11 years old, who were injured.
Bodlli said that the investigations are still in the initial phase. According to him, the possibility that the perpetrators may have mistaken the target or that the motive is related to lending money at interest cannot be ruled out.
"Several people have been questioned, but the father of the two minor boys who were injured has not yet been questioned, as he is in Italy with one of them for more specialized treatment," the journalist said.
He added that the assailants fired their weapons at a long distance, from the Shkoza bridge to the roundabout at the exit of the capital.
"The driver of the vehicle attempted to avoid it by heading towards the Lundra area, where their apartment was located," Bodlli stressed.
