The Boba family's rented house in the former Kënetës neighborhood of Durrës remains closed, several days after the serious incident that shocked the community. Only the owner of the first floor, who had rented the space to the family three years ago, is in the apartment.
The tragic event took place on November 25, when 14-year-old Erion Boba was stabbed several times by a peer. After nine days of fighting for his life in the hospital, the teenager passed away. None of the family members have returned to their apartment in Durrës, while the house of his maternal grandparents is also empty; relatives are still in Tirana.
According to information, Erion's body is expected to be laid to rest in Bulqizë, the city from which the family had moved to settle in Durrës, in the hope of better education and conditions for the children.
Experts and authorities warn that repeated cases of violence among minors, often fueled by momentary conflicts and hate speech, are an alarm signal that requires a coordinated response from the state, school, family and society.
