Xhemal Qefalia, Deputy Minister of Interior, commenting on the crime situation in the country, stated that assassinations occur everywhere in the world.
Invited to News24, Qefalia said that his appointment did not come immediately after the assassination attempt in Rinas, but was planned earlier.
Qefaliaj's reaction comes at a time when two strong attacks shook the country. The first occurred at the Rinas roundabout, one of the areas considered the safest, while the second in Elbasan, where a businessman was executed.
"These events threaten public safety. But these are events that happen in different countries around the world."
We learned in the media a few days ago that two soldiers were attacked at the White House, so such events do happen. But the murder in Elbasan was discovered in record time.
"If there are no incidents, it's up to them not to have police. We shouldn't focus on two incidents to demoralize the work of the police," said Qefalia.
Regarding his appointment as deputy minister, Qefalia stated that this is an assessment made by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"He approved my being deputy interior minister. It's a profile I know. In political activity, as a member of the Security Committee, we have approved laws that you will have to follow closely."
I will do my utmost to increase public safety elements.
"This event is not related to my appointment. It was an action that had been underway for a long time. The meeting happened to be on that date and does not match the event that occurred at the exit of Rinas airport," he said.
