Mark Nika goes to SPAK

Mark Nika, the uncle of Aleks Nika, one of the victims of the January 21, 2011 protest, has arrived at the premises of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), where he is expected to hold a meeting with Chief Prosecutor Klodian Braho.

The focus of this meeting is the progress of the investigations into the January 21 file, which is currently being investigated by SPAK.

The victims' families have consistently demanded that the investigations be complete, transparent, and lead to bringing those responsible to justice, regardless of their level in the state hierarchy.

The event of January 21, 2011 is considered one of the most serious episodes in the political history of Albania after the 1990s. During a protest held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, four citizens lost their lives: Aleks Nika, Hekuran Deda, Ziver Veizi and Faik Myrtaj.

The protest was organized by the then-opposition against the government, while clashes between demonstrators and security forces degenerated into the use of firearms by the Republican Guard.
