Lawyer Brizida Gjikondi stated that Sali Berisha's language and his attacks on judges and prosecutors are unacceptable.
During the interview on "News Line" on ABC News, Gjikondi emphasized that the political class and no one else can continue to attack justice with barbaric language, as former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has been doing for days.
" Unacceptable when you see the denigration he [Sali Berisha] makes of the justice system, a former president of the Republic called SPAK a criminal organization. The justice system and the law that should protect judges and prosecutors have remained silent. Irena Gjoka is a judge with dignity. We cannot continue to listen to such a barbaric vocabulary and an intimidation towards the justice institutions of Albanians" , said Gjikondi.
She also commented on the decision of Ilirjana Olldashi, who decided to release Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltez, for the investigation file on the privatization of the former "Partizani" sports complex. According to Gjikondi, the purchase of the apartment from the Judge to Malltez's company is an open conflict of interest.
" The decision taken by GJKKO against Malltez was flagrant. We have a prior and ongoing conflict of interest and cannot cover the sun with a sieve. That decision brought a public reaction ", said the jurist.
