Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu said that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has benefited from the absence of the US ambassador in Tirana.
In an interview for Euronews Albania Spahiu said that since the moment when the former ambassador Kim left and the new ambassador has not yet been appointed, in the Albanian justice system, the passive role and non-support of the United States of America is felt.
The lawyer also added that former Prime Minister Berisha and his family members may benefit from innocence if justice continues at this pace.
" If we continue at this pace, I am convinced that justice will acquit Sali Berisha and his family. It will be an issue that will "boomerang" back, better not to have started it.
On the other hand, I can say that the absence of an American ambassador in Albania is very sensitive. If we notice that from the day that Ambassador Yuri Kim left and the new ambassador has not yet been appointed, the passive role and non-support of the United States of America towards the justice system can be felt," said lawyer Spahiu .
