The National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) has conducted 19 checks on officials and businessmen in connection with the road tender abuse file. New checks have been conducted in connection with the case involving Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and several of her associates.
Among the people whose homes and work premises were searched were the heads of construction companies.
It is learned that the apartment of Viola Haxhiademi, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and currently director of KESH, was searched, as was the apartment of Gentian Gjyli, former director of ARRSH, defendant and under house arrest, the apartment of Erald Elezi, former director of KESH, defendant and under house arrest, as well as the apartments of Sajmir Kuçi, Marsel Hoxha, Jonida Çeço and Sindi Dushku.
Controls were also carried out against Ilir Shtufi, owner of "Nova Construction - 2012" shpk, one of the 3 operators who won the tender for Lot 4 of the Great Ring Road in Tirana. As well as against businessmen Bashkim Ulaj and Rrok Gjoka.
It is learned that documents and computer equipment were seized during the checks, which will be subject to examination by the justice authorities.
