The driver who caused the tragic accident on May 3 in Durrës, where two minors lost their lives and a third was seriously injured, has appeared before the court.
The Durrës Court has decided to keep Nikoll Radaçi in prison, assigning him the measure of 'prison arrest'.

At the same time, his family was not present and has not taken any action to support him at this stage of the process.
It is learned that the family members have refused to provide him with a lawyer, which forced the court to assign him legal protection from the state.
The charges against Radac are: Violation of traffic rules resulting in death, driving a vehicle in an improper condition, and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to the state-appointed lawyer, who gave a statement to the media after the trial ended, Radaçi could be sentenced to between 5 and 20 years in prison.
Lawyer Arta Gecaj said that the 57-year-old is in a serious emotional state and has expressed remorse.
"The prosecution came with 3 charges. The defendant did not speak at all, he seemed to be in a serious psychological state. I was invited by the state to carry out the defense because he did not have a chosen lawyer. The charges are Violation of traffic rules resulting in death, driving a vehicle in an irregular condition, leaving the scene of an accident. He has expressed remorse," said lawyer Arta Gecaj.
The serious incident occurred at noon on May 3 in neighborhood no. 15 of Durrës. Three children were playing with a ball on the sidewalk when they were hit by a vehicle driven by Radaçi, who, according to preliminary data, was drunk and was driving at high speed.
As a result of the collision, a 12-year-old and a 10-year-old lost their lives, while another child, an 8-year-old, was seriously injured, but managed to survive.
Meanwhile, information about the driver's record has also been brought to light. According to information, four years ago his license was suspended twice.
The incident has caused strong reactions in public opinion. In yesterday's plenary session in the Parliament, there was a demand for strengthening measures in the Road Code to prevent similar cases.
