Fiter Bajrami, head of KMSH: We live in an era where family values are

Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Fitr today. As every year, in Tirana, prayers were held at "Skënderbej Square" under the leadership of the Chairman of the Albanian Muslim Council, Bujar Spahiu.

The message from the head of the KMSH went to the family, who said that the Albanian family is not living the best of days.

"So today we need people with character, who do not cower in fear but stand up for the truth. This day is not a celebration in itself, but also a message. We are one nation, and one family does not abandon each other. Charity is a reminder that wealth is not in the hands of one person but of everyone. God teaches us that wealth is not in what we collect, but in what we distribute," Spahiu said, among other things.

Full speech:

Dear believers, brothers and sisters,

Today, the dawn of Eid al-Fitr finds us with hearts filled with the light of faith and the hope that our sacrifice has been accepted by our Creator. The Ramadan we left behind was not only a month of worship, but a school of dedication, patience, and reflection on our being.

We have stayed away from lusts to gain self-control. We have stayed close to God to find peace. We have opened our hands to give, so that our hearts will not be hardened by indifference. And today, with this blessed holiday, comes the big question: What will we do now? Will Ramadan remain a memory, or a guide for the year ahead?

Allah Almighty tells us in the Quran:

"And that you may complete the number (of fasts) and glorify Allah for what He has guided you, and that you may be grateful." (Al-Baqarah: 185)

Today, this gratitude must be more than words. It must be reflected in the way we build our lives, how we interact with society, how we defend the truth, and how we stand in the face of the challenges of our time.

We live in an era where family values are eroding, where truth is often lost in the noise of propaganda, and where a person is measured by what he has, not by what he is. In the face of this, Islam does not teach us to retreat, but to stand with dignity. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"The best of you is the one who is most beneficial to people." (Ahmad)

This means that today, more than ever, we need people of character, believers who not only pray but also build, who not only ask but also give, who are not cowered by fear, but stand firm with the truth.

At a time when divisions between people increase and hatred finds refuge in weak hearts, Eid reminds us of unity, mercy, and justice. This day is not just a celebration, but a message: We are one nation. We are one family. And a family does not abandon one another.

Sadaqah, Zakat and other charitable giving that we have given before Eid is more than just a help to the poor. They are a true testament to equality, a reminder that wealth is not absolute ownership, but a trust from God.

In a world where wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few, while many others struggle to make ends meet, Islam teaches us that true power lies not in what we accumulate, but in what we distribute.

If we want a more just society, we must start with justice within ourselves. If we want a more merciful society, we must exercise mercy upon one another.

Our beloved Prophet said:

"He is not a true believer who sleeps full while his neighbor is hungry." (Ahmad)

Brothers and sisters,

This Eid is a bridge between what we have learned in Ramadan and what we will do after it. Will we continue to be just? Will we continue to be merciful? Will we continue to stay on God's path even when that path is not easy?

Today, as we embrace each other and wish each other a happy holiday, let us not forget that every hug is an oath of brotherhood, every prayer is a promise of devotion, and every smile is a reflection of the light of faith.

Once again, we pray to God Almighty, who has accepted our fasting and worship, to give us strength to face the challenges of this life, and to make us torches of goodness in a world that is in so great need of light.

Happy Eid al-Fitr!

God bless you and your families!
